Dr. Straus is an Orthopaedic Surgeon, fellowship trained in lower
extremity surgery (knee, foot and ankle). He attended Texas A&M University
on full academic scholarship including the President's Endowed Scholarship
and James B. Watson Memorial Scholarship attributed in part to his status
as a National Merit Finalist. Dr. Straus graduated from Texas A&M
with Magna Cum Laude Honors. He completed medical school in Dallas at
the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, followed by orthopaedic
surgery residency in Charleston, SC. His fellowship in lower extremity
surgery was performed in Houston, TX where he was involved in coverage
of the Houston Rockets NBA team and Rice University Athletics.
Throughout his training, Dr. Straus has obtained a detailed understanding
of musculoskeletal conditions, in particular those involving the foot
and ankle. He has experience in the latest orthopaedic technology involving
tendon disorders, ligament reconstruction, and ankle replacement. Dr. Straus is married to his wife Amy and has two children.
