Dr. Grear Hurt is an Orthopaedic
Surgeon, fellowship trained in Sports Medicine who is originally from Atlanta,
GA. He attended the University of Virginia where he was an Echols Scholar, Phi
Beta Kappa, member of Kappa Alpha Order and graduated with a B.A. with Distinction
in Biology. He completed medical school and his orthopaedic residency at Vanderbilt
University in Nashville, TN and his Fellowship in Sports Medicine at The Hughston
Clinic in Columbus, GA. He is also Board Certified. In addition to sports medicine
he enjoys practicing general orthopaedics while seeing painful conditions and
disorders of both upper and lower extremity joints including shoulders, elbows,
wrists, hips, knees, and ankles. He currently serves as the Head Team Physician
for First Baptist Academy. He is assistant team physician for the Dallas Mavericks
and former assistant team for the Dallas Burn. He is married with two boys
and a girl.
